Fill-a-Bag Food Drive

May 5th to May 12th

We're asking everyone in our community to come together to make a difference and help us stock our shelves so that none of our neighbours go hungry this summer.

Last year the Fill-a-Bag Food Drive collected over 13,000 lbs of food!

Here's all you have to do to donate and help ensure none of your neighbours go hungry this summer:

  • On May 5th: Volunteers will deliver an empty bag to your door

  • Throughout the Week: You fill the bag with food and leave it on your front porch. Please ensure it's easily visible to volunteers walking by.

  • On May 12th: Volunteers will pick up your donations!

Volunteers Wanted!

We're looking for teams of at least three people to drop off grocery bags at homes in communities throughout Dundas County and North Stormont Township. Each team will need a vehicle, as the average route would include between 100 and 150 residences.

  • On Saturday May 5 between 1 and 3 pm, you and your team will leave an empty bag on the front porch or in the mail box of each residence. This step will take about an hour.

  • On Saturday May 12 between 1 and 3 pm you and your team will return to pick up the food donations. This step will take no more than a couple of hours.

  • Your team will then drop off all donations at a central location.

To register teams, or if you have any questions, contact Ian McKelvie admin@communityfoodshare.ca or
(613) 898-0781.

I Didn't Get a Bag

If the May 5th weekend has come and gone, but nobody dropped a bag off at your door, please email admin@communityfoodshare.ca or call any of our locations. A volunteer will be happy to come by and drop off a bag.

Nobody Picked Up My Bag

If no one has picked up your bag by 4 pm, please call 613-898-0718. We’ll arrange for a volunteer to pick-up your bag.
